As a child, I was told to write a 3 by a teacher whilst learning how to write. I wrote a 3 but backwards. they told me to fix it. I wrote a proper 3 next to it, forming an 8.
I laughed at it, but my teacher was quite disappointed

My first calculus course, with a crazy-haired Russian who had a strong accent. He once wrote next to an incorrect answer I gave for one of his tests: "very wrong". I did well on the rest of the test so it was fine, but it absolutely made my day, lol.

I got the right answer. And then I was hooked.
