Anymore math to invent? - curved_time - 11-29-2021
Hi everyone, I'm currently a high school student and I want to be a mathematician when I grow up. I want to be a mathematician that discovers and makes new math, like the ancients such as Aristotle. Problem is, I don’t know if there’s any more math left to find. Literally every time I find something new in math, I find out that it has already been discovered and it's sad. Open to any of your opinions.

By the time you get to a point where you can research at the frontiers of math, the amount of things you could research will have doubled. Mathematics never run out, by it's very nature. Gödel proved that any consistent formal system can never be complete, so as long as we keep doing things consistently, we'll never be finished and there will always be more to learn.

There are still several mathematical problems that have not been solved bolt but you're still learning so maybe search up what math course you should take next and go from there. That's a good start.

There’s a lot left to prove, it’s just that there’s a ton of things to learn to get to the point you can reasonably attempt to prove it. Don’t get discouraged!
