Math in movies?
#1
Hey everyone!

This is something I've been experimenting with on my channel, but I wanted to ask all of you.
An interest of mine has been to analyze mathematical concepts as they appear in movies, either directly or indirectly. It's my research area, after all, and so I have a lot to say about it. One thing that this approach through media does for me, is that it gives me a way of branching out and finding out about new pieces of mathematics I didn't know about before.
Some of the videos I've made so far include Alice in Borderland, The Umbrella Academy and Schrodinger's Equation. I'm planning on doing a series on Depth First Search algorithms and its connection with Chess and Queen's Gambit.
It's amazing, but I wonder, is this something you would be interested in watching? What interesting mathematics has appeared in a movie you've watched lately?

Cheers,
JameDari

 • The movie Contact (1997), stuff about prime numbers in the mysterious signal
 • The movie Cube (1997), mathematical stuff about the serial numbers in the rooms
Both are pretty good

There's always math in movies. Math is related to everything. In almost every movie or t.v. show, there is some aspect of math.

Yes, what kingkong said is absolutely true. If you are looking for a movie particular in math though, definitely go with A Beautiful Mind. It is truly both emotional and inspirational with tons of math aspects inside.
